Lilies, Roses, Tulips I have even seen Birds of Paradise adorning the rooms in the funeral homes I have visited. All amazingly beautiful and the aroma of all of them together in a crowded room leave a lingering impression. However, like the person they are honoring, they are too soon laid to rest.

When exactly it became “en vogue” to offer suggestions that in “lieu of flowers” donations be made to a charity is not important, that it happened is.

For those of us entrenched in the task of offering human kindness to our neighbors in need, we have come to rely very heavily on these gifts.

When you choose to make a Memorial Donation you are honoring loved ones not with a momentary display of affection, but you are allowing the work and mission of that charity to continue.

There are so many places to direct your gifts, and some families offer suggestions of where you might want to give. Whichever charity you choose, they will acknowledge your giving to the family.

Please remember Aurora House and our mission to care for the dying in their final days of living! We do not charge anything for the 24-hour care we provide which makes memorial donations a lifeline for our work.  Envelopes are available to assist in this process from Aurora House or by contacting us at:  memorials@aurorahousewmc.com

Turn your trash into a Treasure!  Donating your old car, RV  or Boat, Recycling electronics, toner and ink cartridges and vehicles are some ways to show your support for Aurora House.   All recycled goods MUST be dropped off at an official pick-up location (click here for Aurora House drop-off locations) for us to get credit!  All Aurora House services are provided free of charge, which means there is a need to fundraise in order to generate income to cover our overhead. 

Show your support by purchasing items we have offered up for sale, donating in memory/honor of loved ones and by attending fundraising events. 

Giving of ourselves is a fabulous feeling and you may just get hooked on it!
